In addition to the knowledge you acquire in lecture and, you will be learning how to use ViSta, the Visual Statistics System. This system was designed and written by your professor especially to make it easier for you to learn statistics. You can download WinViSta 6.2 and use it at home. It is available on the lab computers where it will be used for assignments. Later in the semester it will be available on the publically accessable computers on campus for your projects.

UNC's Institute for Social Science Research has a statistical consulting service that can help you with statistical computing problems. Jose Sandoval is teaching a two-part short course on ViSta on Tue and Thur, Jan 16 and 18 and a one-part course during Laboratory Hours on Friday Jan 19th. These classes are in room 15 in the basement of Manning Hall.
