Lhasa is the capitol of Tibet. It is a city of about 150,000 people, now mostly Chinese. Tibet is a Chinese autonomous region, giving a degree of independence from the Central Government. That degree, however, is tightly controlled by Beijing.
  • The Altitude of Lhasa is about 13,500 feet, making it the highest city in the world. For visitors, this is very difficult.
  • Slow Motion is the way everything has to be done by the newly arrived.
